We’re proud to share a recently finished house in Wiltshire that has been awarded an EPC rating of 92 (Band A). This is a great example of combining traditional style and green home design.
The project involved demolishing part of a former school and converting the rest of it. We also designed a new house to join on to the converted school, to create one family home. We were careful to retain the original school bell and tile hangings – a lovely original feature.
The old school section is now a large kitchen, breakfast and family room. The house also has a number of other reception rooms, and 4 bedrooms upstairs.
Energy Efficient Home
Below is the EPC rating, showing a score of 92 which puts the house in band A. This house uses bio fuel, an air source heat pump, and solar photovoltaics, all of which contribute to a better EPC rating.
The total energy costs over three years for lighting, heating and hot water are estimated at just £4,473, which is an incredible result.
We worked with local builders Knight Building Contractors Ltd to meet and exceed our clients expectations. Getting such a high EPC rating for this style of house, especially including the old school house section, is a great achievement for all of us.
